Chestnut Charcuterie Board
The Wood the French Countryside Used First
Handcrafted in southwestern France from solid French chestnut — the wood a farmhouse reached for long before walnut was affordable. Chestnut grows straight and light, carries its own tannins, and ages to a warm honey that walnut never quite gives you. This one is cut as a long, narrow plank with a shaped handle at one end: not a chopping block but a serving board, made to run down the middle of a table.
Because we honor the natural grain of genuine hardwood, no two boards are exactly alike—giving you a truly one-of-a-kind heirloom piece for your home.
Why You'll Love It
- Built Long and Narrow on Purpose: The shape that works when the table is full — a row of cheeses, a sliced baguette, figs and cured meat down the length of it, set between people rather than in front of one of them.
- Light Enough to Pass: Chestnut is a lighter hardwood than walnut, so a loaded board still moves easily around a table. Hang it by the handle and it earns its place on the wall between dinners.
- Naturally Durable French Chestnut: Chestnut is rich in tannins, which is why the French used it for barrel staves and farmhouse furniture. It resists moisture and wear without asking much from you beyond an occasional oiling.
- Thoughtful Details: Featuring clean, unadorned lines, a softly rounded handle, and our subtle laser-engraved signature logo.
- Artisan Made: Handcrafted in small batches in southwestern France, near Toulouse.
