"Still Life with Bottle and Light Bulb"

Still Life with Bottle and Light Bulb
signed "Jan-Erik M." lower right

Bring a little sunshine and modernist wit to your walls with this mid-century Swedish still life. On a glowing ochre tabletop, a sea-green bottle with a rust-red label stands between a clear drinking glass and an empty canning jar, while a single white light bulb lies on its side in front, an unexpected, playful touch among the everyday glassware.

Behind them, the painter builds the room out of loose, confident blocks of color: a turquoise drape, a warm amber board and soft lemon light from the left. The brushwork is quick and painterly, letting the glass seem to catch and bend the light. It's a cheerful, conversation-starting piece for a kitchen, dining nook or bookshelf vignette. Presented in a vintage wood frame with a gold inner lip and linen liner.
