Laguiole en Aubrac Eiffel Tower Knife – Limited Edition

$490.00 Sale

Paris, dans votre poche. This limited-edition Laguiole en Aubrac “Tour Eiffel” knife carries a piece of Paris: it is made with steel taken from the Eiffel Tower itself. An Eiffel Tower medallion takes the place of the traditional Laguiole bee, the curves of the spring echo the tower's arches, and the lattice-guilloché plates recall its iron framework. The blade is 12C27 stainless steel, and the spring is hand-carved, so it's as much a keepsake as a tool.

Choose your handle (12cm):

  • Cow Horn, Hand-Carved: natural horn with rich, shifting tones, each one naturally unique
  • Elforyn, Hand-Carved: a refined ivory-look material, creamy and luminous
  • Ebony & Brass, Hand-Carved: deep black ébène paired with warm brass

Presented in a gift case with a certificate of authenticity. Le cadeau parfait.

L'Histoire de Laguiole

In 1829, in the small mountain village of Laguiole in southern France, local cutlers made a simple folding knife for the farmers and shepherds of the Aubrac plateau. Nearly two centuries later, that humble farmer's knife is one of the most admired pieces of French craftsmanship and a natural fit for our European artisan collection.

What makes a Laguiole special

  • Made by one craftsman. A single cutler assembles each knife from start to finish.
  • 109 to 166 steps. A one-piece knife takes 109 production steps; two-piece and three-piece models take 166.
  • Shaped by hand. Each blade is hardened by hand, and every part is shaped and fitted by hand.
  • Hand decorated. The blade and spring are decorated by hand, so no two knives are exactly alike.
  • The shepherd's cross. The small cross set into the handle goes back to shepherds who planted their knife in the bread and stopped to pray far from the village church.
  • Natural materials. Handles are made of bone, horn, and French and exotic woods, each with its own color and grain. Traditional carbon-steel blades sharpen easily and hold an excellent edge.
