Ocelot Blood Orange 70% Drinking Chocolate Tin, 200g

$29.00 Sale

A grown-up chocolate orange, made to be stirred into warm milk. Ocelot shaves its award-winning Blood Orange 70% dark chocolate into fine flakes, then adds a little raw cane sugar. The flakes melt into a hot chocolate that tastes bright and zesty first, then deep and earthy.

The cacao is grown organically by a regenerative cooperative in Virunga National Park in Eastern Congo. Virunga is Africa's oldest national park and home to the last mountain gorillas. Ocelot pairs that dark, forest-deep chocolate with tangy blood orange oil and a touch of vanilla to soften the citrus.

The flakes are also good sprinkled over a cappuccino, folded into pancake batter, or scattered over a dessert. The illustrated tin can be kept long after the chocolate is gone, which makes this an easy hostess or stocking gift.

To make it: stir three heaped tablespoons (about 28g) into roughly 7 oz (200ml) of warm milk or a plant-based milk. Whisk over gentle heat until smooth and thickened.

  • Weight: 200g

  • Cocoa Content: 70% minimum

  • Origin: Cacao from Virunga National Park, Congo; made in Scotland

  • Tasting Notes: Blood orange, vanilla, deep forest cocoa

  • Certified organic, vegan, in a reusable tin

About Ocelot
Ocelot began in 2013 when Matt and Ish Broadbent started making chocolate at their kitchen table in Edinburgh. They sold their first bars at farmers' markets in all kinds of Scottish weather. The brand is named for the spotted wild cat often found on cocoa farms. Its square bars and art-inspired wrappers are designed to be kept, and many people buy their first bar for the packaging and their second for what's inside. Today a small team makes the chocolate in a micro factory in Dundee. Every product is certified organic and made with unrefined cane sugar, with no emulsifiers or preservatives. The cacao comes from their partner Original Beans, which works directly with the farmers who grow it.
