A Year in the French Style: Interiors & Entertaining by Antoinette Poisson
A year inside Maison Lescop, the 18th-century house in Port-Louis, Brittany, that the founders of the Paris design studio Antoinette Poisson restored room by room. It is a book about how the French actually live with beautiful things: handmade lampshades, armoires lined with wallpaper, papier-mâché marriage boxes, and a table set for whoever happens to come by.
It follows the seasons through market shopping, antiquing and French meals through the year, with contributions from friends of the house including John Derian, who wrote the foreword. The cover is wrapped in one of the studio's own domino-paper prints, so it is as nice on a coffee table as it is to read.
- By Vincent Farelly and Jean-Baptiste Martin of Antoinette Poisson
- Photography by Ruth Ribeaucourt, foreword by John Derian
- Hardcover, 256 pages, 9 x 12.25 in
- Published by Flammarion, 2023
About Antoinette Poisson
Antoinette Poisson was founded in Paris in 2012 by restorers who set out to revive domino paper, the hand-printed decorative papers of 18th-century France. The studio takes its name from Jeanne-Antoinette Poisson, better known as Madame de Pompadour, and has since worked with Gucci, Ladurée, Diptyque and the Château de Versailles.
